NFL Mock Draft 2015

1. Tampa Bay (2-14)- Jameis Winston QB Florida State
I am not at all a winston fan but I think its inevitable at this point for Winston to wind up in Tampa Bay. There are flaws TO his Game starting with his intelligence and I do believe the Bucs will grow to regret this pick.
2. Tennessee (2-14)- Leonard Williams DE USC
The best player in the draft and he would be a nice fit for their 3-4 defense under Ray Horton. They were awful overall on defense but especially against the run. I would have to imagine that 3 players must be involved to block Williams and Orakpo otherwise they could reck havoc .
3. Jacksonville (3-13)- Danny Shelton DT Washington
The Jaguars are in a very strange spot in the draft and will most likely move back in a trade with a team that wants Mariota. We have seen them surprise us before like last draft and I think they will again. They finished 27th in the league in rush defense last season and need an upgrade in the interior of the defensive line. Shelton is a mountain at 340 pounds but has good feet. He could command a double team on the inside and be paired with a rotating Odrick or Sen’Derick Marks both of whom aren’t anything above a average to below average player. On a side note many people are saying Dante Fowler Jr. here but I don’t think that will happen as there are many pass rushers in this draft ad if they move back they could get one of similar quality at a fraction of the price.
4. Oakland (3-13)- Kevin White WR West Virginia
You can knock GM Reggie McKenzie on his free agency spending and letting players go but you can;t knock him on his draft history. So far he has taken players such as DJ Hayden, Khalil Mack, Derek Carr and Gabe Jackson all who look promising as potential impact players. Historically the Raiders love players with speed and Kevin White possesses that with a sub 4.35 40. Derek Carr needs a number 1 target and White can wreck havoc on opposing secondaries but I do think he is more risky than Amari Cooper.
5. Washington (4-12)- Marcus Mariota QB Oregon
If Mariota is gone then I could see them trading back and gaining more picks. New GM Scott McGloghlan took over a trainwreck of an NFL roster partially due to not having a first round pick since the RG3 trade. They have holes all over the field although I love what Scott has done in Free Agency this year picking up Talent and potential in Chris Culliver, Terrance Knighton and Stephen Paea. Mariota will be able to sit and watch for a year as RG3 plays behind the worst offensive line in the league before taking the reigns in 2016. I am a Mariota fan but I truly believe he needs to wait a little and become seasoned to the pace in the NFL as well as a different system.
6. New York Jets (4-12)- Vic Beasley OLB Clemson
The Jets have a surprisingly good roster and few holes outside of QB and a young pass rusher. They signed a trio of corners (Revis, Cromarti, and Buster Skrine) to solve their weakness at corner and also have Millner coming back from injury. They also signed Marcus Gilchrist to play next to Calvin Pryor and traded for Brandon Marshall at WR. With no Qb worth taking its important to get younger at OLB with both Calvin Pace and Jason Babin 34 years old. Beasley and Quinton Couples would pair as pass rushers for about a decade and could be one of the most formidable duos in the league. I am high on Beasley.
7. Chicago (5-11)- Amari Cooper WR Alabama
With the trade of Brandon Marshall to the Jets they lack a target opposite of Alshon Jeffery and also need a Right Tackle but that can be taken in round two. Cooper will give Cutler two high end targets to throw to and will really put the pressure on Cutler as if he struggles you can’t say there was “no weapons” as he would have Forte, Martelus Bennett, Jeffery, and Cooper. They had an awful defense but they signed some short term patches like Ray McDonald and Jarvis Jenkins while signing Pernell McPhee to big money.
8. Atlanta (6-10)- Dante Fowler Jr. Florida
New defensive coordinator Richard Smith stressed the importance of sacks and QB pressure but the Falcons with the leagues worst defense are lacking a pass rusher. They currently have Tyson Jackson, Kroy Bierman and Adrian Clayborn at DE which is awful. Fowler would give them a big improvement over those guys and be a starter from day 1. The real question with Fowler is how high his ceiling is and how much better can he get.
9. New York Giants (6-10)- Landon Collins S Alabama
They lost Antrel Rolle to the Bears and Stevie Brown is currently a free agent although rumors suggest the Giants want him back. Their current safeties are Cooper Taylor and Nat Berhe which is potential for major problems during the season. Landon Collins could start from day one and bring potentially impact play for this team. They might be able to move back with a trade with a team such as the Dolphins or Chargers and be able to get him.
10. St. Louis (6-10)- DeVante Parker WR Louisville
There is a ton of talent on the Rams roster largely due to the RG3 trade and with Nick Foles I would guess they are expecting to make the playoffs. They have holes on the offensive line that could be patched up later in the draft or through a stopgap in free agency but they need a number one receiver which is not available in Free Agency. Parker would be able to stretch the field and be a reliable target for Foles and the Rams offense. To match the defense the offense has criminally underrated potential with receivers, Parker, Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey, Kenny Britt and Brian Quick. Tight ends Jared Cook and Lance Kendricks and breakout RB Tre Mason. Watch Out!
11. Minnesota (7-9)- Dorial Green-Beckham WR Oklahoma (Mizzou)
The Vikings are another team that will be in contention for the playoffs this season as they ail start with Teddy from day one. He needs another receiver to pair with Mike Wallace and Corderelle patterson who are both similar speed players. Beckham is extremely talented and without his problems at Mizzou could go in the top 5 but he falls here due to uncertainty. He is 6’5 and has the speed and power to go over the middle. They could also use a MLB, future pass rusher, and young corner but they will address those needs later.
12. Cleveland (7-9)- Brandon Scherff OT/OG Iowa
The Browns have two first round picks and need a WR for their offense but will have to wait with many of the top options off the board. They have the best offensive line in the league from the Center (Alex Mack) on over left to Bitiono and Joe Thomas but their right side needs work. Mitchell Schwartz has been awful at Rt while John Greco is subpar. Brandon Scherff would take one of those spots presumably RT while you can let Greco and Schwartz duke it out for RG. As far as the offensive one goes it maybe tacky to say but your only as strong as your weakest link and one deficiency can destroy your whole game plan.
13. New Orleans (7-9)- Arik Armstead DE Oregon
The Saints were woeful on defense last season and it needs to be fixed. I know they lost their big pickup Jairus Byrd early but they were so incredibly bad that other players must be held accountable. They picked up Brandon Browner and Danell Ellerbe to help that defense but they need help up front where they lacked a pass rush and had a porous run defense. The 6’7 Armstead will team with Cameron Jordan to create one of the better 3-4 DE combos in the league. They need Stanley Jean Baptiste to pick it up this season but they should be a lot better.
14. Miami (8-8)- Trae Waynes CB Michigan State
The Dolphins have made splashy signings the past 3 season (Wallace, Albert and Suh) and have high end talent but they lack depth in certain areas. One of them is Wr where they can’t get value at this point in the draft and another is Cb as Cortland Finnegan retired and where if Waynes is available they should grab him immediately. He would pair with one of the better corners in the league in Brett Grimes and would have to cover receivers such as Juilien Edelman, Eric Decker, and Robert Woods. The Dolphins next pick would most likely be a linebacker Oline or a WR.
15. San Francisco (8-8)- Eric Kendricks ILB UCLA
The 49ers had the unluckiest offseason with the retirement of star ILB Partick Willis due to injury and Chris Borland due to fearfulness and stupidity. Eric Kendricks is the brother of Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks and could be a great player. The 49ers have been very effective in the first round recently with the exception of Jonathan Baldwin. They have a few other needs as well but they must fix the defense after losing Willis, Justin Smith, Borland, Chris Culliver and Perish Cox.
16. Houston (9-7)- Jaelen Strong WR Arizona State
The Texans waived goo bye to their franchise player Andre Johnson and need a receiver opposite of DeAndre Hopkins as Cecil Shorts III is a slot receiver. They will most likely select a linebacker in the next round. They might be reaching a little bit here but this will fill a need that must be filled to give Brian Hoyer a chance to be competitive.
17. San Diego (9-7)- Eddie Goldman NT Florida State
The Chargers are a team that could move up in the draft and we have heard rumors of Phillip Rivers being involved in a Mariota trade but I doubt the Chargers would do that. They need a big man on their defensive line to stuff the run and play next to Corey Liuget and Kendall Reyes. They could also use a RB, SS and a pass rusher. They don’t have many needs but lack star talent on the defensive side of the ball save for Eric Weddle.
18. Kansas City (9-7)- Breshad Perriman WR UCF
He is FAST! He reportedly recorded a 4.22 40 yard dash time at his pro day which would be one of the fastest ever. Not an over the middle typer player but he would stretch the field similar to DeSean Jackson during his time in Philly. With Maclin on the inside this will help Alex Smith run the west coast offense and Perriman will be used plenty for bubble screens. They don’t have much salary cap room due to the franchise tag they placed on Justin Houston but if they get a long term deal done look for them to beef up their offensive line and their secondary. They should draft a ILB in the next two rounds.
19. Cleveland – from Buffalo (9-7)- Todd Gurley RB Georgia
Already having selected Offensive lineman Brandon Scherff they can move onto another need and that is RB where they really need someone who doesn’t suck. Gurley is coming off injury at Georgia but has insane talent and is relatively fresh due to being suspended for violating the NCAAs bullshit criminal monopolistic rules by signing autographs. He would be a game changer on the field although i would understand the fear of drafting another first round RB by Browns fans (Trent Richardson).
20. Philadelphia (10-6)- Malcolm Brown DT Texas
There are rumors of Chip Kelly moving up to select his college QB Marcus Mariota but I am not predicting trades in this mock draft. The Eagles do fill a need here selecting talented DT Malcolm brown who could take Cedric Thortons spot to form one of the better 3-4 combos in the league with Flethcer Cox or play the nose. They could also use a WR and RG but those options don’t have the value of Brown who is one of the more underrated players in this draft class.
21. Cincinnati* (10-5-1)- Andrus Peat LT Stanford
It seems every year a talented prospect falls to the Bengals you think would have been gone a long time ago. Outside of safety they really lack a position of weakness so they draft for the future here. Whitworth who is one of the best Left Tackles in the league is 33 and ail need to be replaced soon. By taking Peat he can start at LT and you can kick Whitworth into left guard with Boling playing center which would make this a top 3 line in the league.
22. Pittsburgh* (11-5)- Alvin “Bud” Dupree OLB Kentucky
The Steelers have a huge need at corner that they refuse to address in the first round. They love taking linebackers early (Shazier, Jarvis Jones, Timmons) and need a pass rusher to eventually replace James Harrison. Dupree is one of the higher rated players on my board and the Steelers get lucky if he slides. They also could use a left guard, Nose Tackle, safety and a couple corners.
23. Detroit* (11-5)- Marcus Peters CB Washington
The Lions had to deal with the loss of Suh and Fairley but they traded for Haloti Nghata and signed Tyrunn Walker who are going to be their defensive tackles. Darius Slay has been inconsistent and Rashean Mathis is 35 so they need a corner for the future. Marcus Peters is a very talented corner but got kicked off the football team last year due to off the field issues and bad behavior. They could use some offensive line help as well as some pass rushing depth.
24. Arizona* (11-5)- Shane Ray OLB Mizzou
Coming off a strange year many people have the Cardinals taking a running back or someone on the offensive side of the ball and that certainly makes sense but thats just not how the Cardinals do things. They like to build from the inside out primarily through defense. They lack a true pass rusher to put pressure on the quarterback. They signed Sean Whetherspoon to play one side and Ray would play another. Prbably the best GMand Head coach tandem in the league but they have a need additionally at C, RT, RB and on the Dline.
25. Carolina* (7-8-1)- La’el Collins OT LSU
They made the playoffs due to the worst division in years but next year it will be more difficult. Byron Bell is a UFA and likely will not be resigned. They need a LT but some people question whether Collins is a LT or better suited on the interior. I think he would be an all-pro guard but I don’t know how good of a LT he will be but due to his talent I would take him as he has an extremely high floor and he can slide to guard or right tackle as the Panthers are devoid of talent on the oline. They also haven’t had an above average corner since Chris Gamble retired.
26. Baltimore* (10-6)- Jalen Collins CB LSU
The Ravens are mired in salary cap hell which has forced them to trade Ngata and watch Torrey Smith leave. They could absolutely use a receiver here but none are worth taking right now. Jimmy Smith is a UFA in 2016 and will be expensive so Collins could slide in and be the replacement. There is not a lot of holes on this Ravens team but corner depth is important especially to cover Marcus Wheaton and Martavis Bryant of the Steelers.
27. Dallas* (12-4)- Melvin Gordon RB Wisconsin
They need a replacement for the departure of DeMarco Murray and while they covet Adrian Peterson the Vikings have said they will not release him. Dallas had a Miracle season last year but they have holes all over the defense filled with below average players outside of Sean Lee and their corners. After selecting Zach Martin last year and seeing that go so well they will not be afraid to make the boring pick. Gordon will be a stud bulldog running back perfect for Dallas.
28. Denver* (12-4)- Ereck Flowers OT Miami
Peyton is going into what is likely his last season in the NFL and Denver must do everything it can to win this year. They have lost talent in free agency in Julius Thomas, Orlando Franklin, Rahim Moore, Nate Erving and Wes Welker that they need to somehow replace. The whole at left guard by the departing Orlando Franklin is the most concerning because Peyton is fragile and immobile at this stage of his career. They can plug Flowers in at RT and move Chris Clark to LG. Still they have to replace depth at other positions in the draft.
29. Indianapolis* (11-5)- Cameron Erving C Florida State
They need a Center for Andrew Luck similar to what Peyton Manning had in Jeff Saturday. Having a leader at center is critical to maintaining consistency in the offensive line. I don’t see any other needs on offense but defense they really do need some help. No one is above average up front and they need safeties but having a center can make a difference and complete this offense which might be the leagues best in 2015.
30. Green Bay* (12-4)- Randy Gregory DE Nebraska
Green Bay builds almost single handedly through the draft. After resigning BJ Raji they really don’t have any holes on their roster but they can look to get better at OLB pass rusher and younger to replace Julius Peppers eventually. Gregory could fall in the draft due to failing a drug test for weed and his bad combine. He needs to gain some weight and going to the Packers can allow his to gain weight and sit for a little before being forced into action.
31. New Orleans – from Seattle* (12-4)- Maxx Williams TE Minnesota
Following the pick of Arik Armstead they could look to address another void which was caused by the Jimmy Graham trade. Drew Brees was vocally pissed off about that trade and they need to get another weapon for him as they’ve lost Graham and Kenny Stills. The Saints are not done making moves as they have had to recover from salary cap hell and have some holes on their team.
32. New England* (12-4)- Jordan Phillips NT Oklahoma
The Patriots did win the Super Bowl so there isn’t a lot of holes but there are a couple following the departures of Darell Revis, Brandon Browner and Vince Wilfork. In Jordan Phillips they can get their next big man to stop the run which is critical toward the end of the game when opponents are trying to run out the clock. They could also use a corner or two.

As we approach the trade deadline many names are becoming apparent for their availiblility as their teams have fallen out of contention or sense payroll issues. Injuries trade potential needs per destination and combine that with salary concerns and their upcoming record there is a wide amount of questionability with who will be traded. The way this year is shaping out there seems to be few candidates and very few bats especially. There is a tremendous amount of parity in the league right now so it definently looks like a sellers market. Anyway we might as well take a look. *Stats as of May 20th*

Arizona Diamondbacks- Sellers

Aaron Hill .269/.324/.431 BA/OBP/SLG

This might be the biggest piece the Snakes will move. They have IF depth in prospect Jake Lamb and Didi Gregorious. He is owed 12MM each of the next two years which is a price I don’t know if the Diamondbacks are able to pay.

Potential Trade partners: Marlins, Giants, Cardinals, Orioles, Yankees, Athletics

*Potential trade: Yanks get Hill; Dbacks get Tyler Austin*

Eric Chavez .283/.356/.528

He would be a perfect fit for any team looking for a left handed bat off the bench. He will likely not be very expensive to acquire.

Potential Trade Partners: Almost any contending team

*Potential Trade: Tigers get Chavez; Dbacks get Javier Betancourt*

Brandon McCarthy 5.01 ERA

He is not having a great year and would likely only garner trade interest as a starter if he improves otherwise he could be valuable as a long reliever/ 6th starter.

Potential trade Partners: Dodgers, Marlins, Brewers, Giants, White Sox, Indians, Angels, Yankees, Rangers, Blue Jays

Bronson Arroyo 4.15

He is due 9.5MM next year so I am not to sure he gets moved and if he is the prospect quality could depend on the amount of money the Snakes will eat.

Brad Ziegler .228 Oliver Perez .363 Joe Thatcher .277

These are the potential relievers the Snakes can move and none are closers but each should bring back decent value. Expect the return to range from a teams number 8-30th ranked prospects.

Potential Trade candidates: All non selling teams

Cubs- Selling

Starlin Castro .302/.341/.491

The Cubs I think will be very serious when listening to offers for Starlin Castro. They have infield prospects Javier Baez, Alcantara, Villanueva, & Canderlario. They also have 1st base prospect Dan Vogelbach but I don’t believe they will listen to offers on Rizzo at least until Vogelbach becomes closer to big league ready. After Starlin’s rough season last year he is playing exceptionally well and can bring back a very sizeable return for a organization which is getting closer to putting a good product on the field. While this organization isn’t lacking much in the minors it is missing a potential top line starting pitcher and a catcher. While many say “wait till the offseason as you will get a better return as you have more teams involved” that isn’t the case here as Starlin is signed long term and is very young (24 years old). I will say there is a 80% chance the Cubs sell high and move him.

*Potential Trade: Mets acquire Starlin; Cubs get Noah Syndergaard, Kevin Plawecki, & Michael Fulmer

Emilio Bonifacio .292/.337/.354

He got off to an absolutely blistering start and has cooled down since. He can be a contending teams swiss army knife capable of playing multiple positions and has the speed to be that pinch runner late in games to steal you that extra base.

Nate Schierholtz .197/.248/.252

The Cubbies really blew it by not trading Nate at last years deadline or in the offseason when he would have likely garnered a top 100 prospect. If he improves he can be a teams 4th OF.

Potential Trade spots: Mets, Giants, Indians, Nationals, White Sox, Yankees, Mariners

*Potential Trade: Mariners get Nate; Cubs get David Colvin

Jeff Samardzija 1.62

There will be plenty of interested parties for this guys services although no one can imagine him keeping this up. He will be a free agent after the 2015 season and can always re-sign with the Cubs. The Cubs will be looking for a elite Pitching Prospect and potentially a corner outfielder.

Potential Trade Candidates: Rockies, Dodgers, Marlins, Giants, Cardinals, Nationals, Orioles, Red Sox, Indians, Yankees, Rangers, Blue Jays

*Potential Trade: Red Sox get Samardzija; Cubs get Henry Owens, Mookie Betts & Jamie Callahan*

Jason Hammel 3.06

He has had a nice start to his Cubs career and will have a low salary to take on for the rest of the year. He is a free agent at seasons end and will most likely look for a multi-year deal.

Potential Trade Candidates: Every contending team looking for pitching

*Potential Trade: Rangers get Hammel; Cubs get Jairo Beras & Sam Wolff

Phillies- Probably the biggest wild card in the National League as if they are .500 or better they will look to acquire relief pitching and potentially another starting pitcher to go along with the promotion of 3B Maikel Franco. If they are out of it Ruben Amaro Jr. will likely be fired and they will try to trade Cliff Lee, Chase Utley, Jimmy Rollins, AJ Burnett, Marlon Byrd, Carlos Ruiz, Mike Adams, Jonathan Papelbon, and Wil Nieves. At some point though they will need to rebuild and replace the dinosaurs on their team.

Pirates- Sellers

Russell Martin .242/.342/.355

Martin is a free agent at seasons end and there is a good chance he does resign with the Pirates as he meant so much to this team last year. IF the Pirates can get a good prospect in return it might be worth dealing him as there does not figure to be many available catchers on the market.

Potential Trade partners: Dodgers, Red Sox, Angels, & Rangers

Jason Grilli 4.50

Was outstanding last year as their closer but has been on the DL for plenty of time this year.

Potential Trade: Blue Jays get Grilli; Pirates get Clinton Hollon as Player to be named later

Fransisco Liriano 4.86

He is a big gamble as there are seasons which he is excellent and others which he flat out sucks. I can see him getting dealt to a team looking for depth.

Potential Trade Partners: Contending teams looking for depth

*Potential Trade: Blue Jays acquire Liriano; Pirates acquire Tom Robson

Middle Relief

They will deal one of many of their middle relief options if they get an offer that they can’t refuse but i don’t see them having a bullpen fire sale.

Padres- It remains yet to be seen if they will contend this year and alot of it depends on the health of Andrew Cashner. If they fall out of it they will try to trade Chase Headley, Seth Smith, & Ian Kennedy.

2007 NFL Draft - April 28, 2007

There are still many good prospects left on the board at this point and there are still teams who have not yet made a pick. 33. Cardinals- Kony Ealy OLB Missouri

The Cardinals aren’t a team with that many needs but there are a couple big ones. One of them is pass rusher where they have no one to compliment the old John Abraham. They can use an offensive lineman, a running back, and a strong safety.

34. Falcons- RaShede Hageman DT Minnesota

The Falcons need to continue building their lines and while there are pass rushers later in the draft there arent many more impact defensive tackles especially someone like Hageman who many have a first round grade on.

35. Browns- Lamarcus Joyner CB Florida State

{previous picks: Johnny Manziel QB, Odell Beckham jr. WR}

The Browns have had a strong draft so far and continue to fill needs. They need another corner to play with Joe Haden and can use Buster Skrine in more of a nickel role now. They could also look at a left guard here, a free safety, or a 3-4 DE.

36. Raiders- Kyle Van Noy OLB Brigham Young

I can see them taking a guard here but they can easily get one in the third round. They probably have the worst group of linebackers in the league with the Miami Dolphins. If I were the Raiders I would heavily think about trading down.

37. Redskins- Joel Bitonio OT Nevada

He can play tackle or he can be moved inside to guard which is a huge need for the Redskins. I really dont understand why people are picking this team to win the division. This is a club with needs everywhere and I am not to confident in RGIII especially with this offensive line playing in front of him.

38. Buccaneers- Allen Robinson WR Penn State

The Bucs are in extremely desperate need of a wide receiver to play across from Vincent Jackson. Robinson would give the Bucs a set of tall receivers which would create some bad matchups on shorter defensive backs. If their draft turns out like this with their additions this offseason (& a guard in round 4) this could be a team threatening to make the playoffs.

39. Ravens- Stephon Tuitt DE Notre Dame

***Ravens acquire 39th pick from Jaguars for 194th and 2015 first round picks***

The Ravens can of course trade up from their second round pick to this one but Ozzie Newsome is one of the smartest GMs in the game and even though they are giving up their first round pick next year they are getting first round talent at a position of need. Tuitt would take the spot of the lost Arthur Brown.

40. Vikings- Derek Carr QB Fresno State

{previous pick: Jimmie Ward SS}

The Vikings busted a few years ago on Christian Ponder and need a real quarterback to lead them to the promised land. The Vikings overall have a pretty good team including the best running back in football in Adrian Peterson. The only glaring needs for the Vikings right now is right guard and linebacker. This is also a team that would now have 2 first round picks in theirs and Carolinas and had 3 first round picks last year.

41. Jaguars- Cameron Fleming OT Stanford

{previous pick: Blake Bortles}

The Jaguars have a top emerging left tackle in Luke Joeckel but a big hole at the right tackle position and it is important with a rookie quarterback that you have good protection. If the team is feeling unsure about Blackmon they could take a wide receiver here but I think Blackmon will be reinstated by next season.

42. Titans- Austin Seferian-Jenkins TE Washington

If Jake Locker can play well this season this team should make the playoffs and if he doesnt this team will likely draft a first round quarterback next year. This teams top tight end right now is Dalenie Walker which is unacceptable. This team also has a big need at corner after the loss of Alterraun Verner.

43. Giants- Dominique Easley DT Florida

This was a very hard pick for me to do because they can go in so many different directions. They have an outstanding group of corners but if they cant stop the run they arent going to win 7 games. They have a very weak and old group of defensive tackles with limited interior pass rush ability. They can also go for tight end or wide receiver which are both positions of need for them.

44. Bengals- Donte Moncrief WR Mississippi

The Bengals need a receiver to pair with AJ Green. They already have two very good tight ends and a running back that they selected in the second round last year so Donte could be the final piece of the puzzle. If Dalton cannot win a playoff game this year i think he will be replaced and be a free agent next year.

45. Lions- Jordan Matthews WR Vanderbilt

Even with the signing of Golden Tate the Lions are still looking for a wide receiver. Here they are taking one of my personal favorites in this draft. They still do need a right tackle.

46. Steelers- Jace Amaro TE Texas Tech

The Steelers have a lot of options on the board that fit them including Morgan Moses, Cyrus Kouandijo, Kelvin Benjamin, and Cody Latimer. The Steelers want A tall option for Big Ben and particularly someone who is a target in the red zone. This is shaping up to be an ideal draft for GM Kevin Colbert.

47. Cowboys- Tre Mason RB Auburn

The Cowboys can go a number of ways here whether it be a pass rusher or a wide receiver but i have them taking a running back. DeMarco Murray is a free agent at the end of the season and i dont know if it makes sense to bring him back on what will most likely have to be a multi year deal. Mason is my top rated running back and i think he can be a pro bowler at the NFL level.

48. Ravens- Deone Buccannon SS Washington State

They need someone to play next to Matt Elam in the secondary. There arent to many holes left for the Ravens but this is a big one needed to be filled. Its also important they find a pass rusher for the future in this draft.

49. Panthers- Cyrus Kouandijo OT Alabama

The Panthers get lucky this guy fell as they are in desperate need of a left tackle after Jordan Gross retired. He would most likely be responsible for protecting the Blind side of Cam Newton and Bryron Bell will return to his right tackle position.

50. Dolphins- Billy Turner OT North Dakota State

The Dolphins continue to fix that big black eye that you call an offensive line. Morgan Moses does remain on the board but he projects at left tackle and really took off when he moved from the right to left side. He would pair with Xavier to transform this Dolphins offensive line along with Brandon Albert and make it a point of strength.

51. Bears- Morgan Moses OT Virginia

The Bears can consider a wide receiver or a corner here but I think this is a “best player available” pick. Jermon Bushrod is likely not their long term future at left tackle but Moses can easily be. He would likely be the blindside protector for the rest of Jay Cutlers career.

52. Cardinals- Weston Richburg C Colorado State

The Cardinals can see this as sort of a luxury type pick. They can use a long term center particularly one that can play at a very high level for the next ten years and open holes in the running game.

53. Packers- Terrence Brooks FS Florida State

The Packers continue to transform their defense in a way to compete with the 49ers, the Bears and the Seahawks. Adding Brooks would make this a very well rounded secondary capable of defending high impact arial attacks. They will finally fix the hole left by the injury to Nick Collins.

54. Eagles- Cody Latimer WR Indiana

The Eagles need to add receiver depth after the loss of DeSean Jackson. In the Eagles high flying offense there is a good chance that Latimer will see a lot of time on the field.

55. Rams- Gabe Jackson OG Mississippi State

The Rams have to fill the hole left by the departuring Harvey Dahl at the guard position. This would be an outstanding pick as Gabe Jackson has drawn reviews to Larry Warford who won offensive rookie of the year last year. This would open up some big holes for Zac Stacy.

56. 49ers- Stanley Jean- Baptiste CB Nebraska

After seeing the Seahawks manhandle their receivers with their larger corners the 49ers want to be able to have their own. Stanley stand at 6’3 and could develop into a very physical man to man corner in this league.

57. Seahawks- Demarcus Lawrence DE Boise State

The Seahawks are not bringing back Chris Clemons and have one year left from Cliff Avril before he will go looking for big money. The Seahawks operate like the Giants in that they have multiple pass rushers and do use a rotation for it. There secondary quickly became very expensive and i expect Russell Wilson to get a contract at about 15M per year soon so that salary cap will get very tight very quick. A good starting option right here is enough to move up for.

58. Saints- Kelvin Benjamin WR Florida State

This is a big wild card pick as there have been conflicting reports about Benjamin. The Saints do need another receiver and one to hopefully take the spot of Colston now that he has gotten older and they lost Lance Moore. I can also see them taking a running back here or potentially a offensive guard.

59. Colts- Keith McGill CB Utah

This team doesnt have a first round pick because of the lopsided Trent Richardson trade but i do believe that Trent will be better this year due to the likelyhood that you wont see 8 men in the box because of Wayne, Nicks, Allen, and TY Hilton. This team NEEDS a lefts guard and also a strong safety. The Colts with a couple small additions can be a real force next season.

60. Jets- Jeremiah Attaochu OLB Georgia Tech

I think that tight end Troy Niklas is an option here too which would create a great offense and put pressure on Geno Smith to succeed. I think if Geno isnt good this year The Jets will absolutely pick up a quarterback in next years first round. Here though the Jets get a pass rusher who will eventually take over for 33 year old Calvin Pace.

61. Giants- Troy Niklas TE Notre Dame

The Giants have had one of the worst tight end situations since Jake Ballard left. Here Eli gets a big 6’7 270lbs target who will be able to block and make plays in the red zone. The Giants still have a number of needs to address including outside linebacker and need another wide receiver.

62. Cowboys- Martavis Bryant WR Clemson

The Cowboys need a receiver to replace the departing Miles Austin and get a nice number 2 receiver here. The Bryants would represent a viable receiving core along with Terrence Williams.

63. Broncos- Chris Borland ILB Wisconsin

The Broncos seem to be a moderately easy choice to return to the super bowl as the AFC champions. They do have a big hole left by the departing Wesley Woodyard. They are really pushing to win the championship before Peyton retires.

64. Seahawks- Davante Adams WR Fresno State

The Super Bowl champion Seahawks are very deep in a number of areas and feature high end talent in most of those areas as well. The do have an issue at wide receiver where they can use additional depth after the loss of Golden Tate.

I have attached the NFL draft trade chart which gives point values on what each pick is worth. Most of the time the team trading down will get the benefit of the doubt. Well lets get started. Image

1. Texans- Jadaveon Clowney DE South Carolina

I can see the Falcons wanting to move up to get Clowney but I just dont think it makes sense for the Texans unless the Falcons overpay like crazy. There biggest need is QB but at the number 6 spot both Bortles and Manziel could be gone. They could use a WR or Guard and need a TE but it is too high to take Ebron and the WR or Guard need isnt pressing enough. They do need a middle linebacker but not at 6 overall. Unless if the Falcons give up 3 first round picks and a second i dont see a trade happening.

2. Rams- Sammy Watkins WR Clemson

The Rams could trade this pick if Clowney is still there but otherwise i see them taking Watkins. I dont understand why “experts” have them taking Greg Robinson when he wont be drafted until at least the number 6 barring a trade. Watkins would make the Rams have a very dynamic offense if Sam Bradford can play well.

3. Bills- Khalil Mack DE Buffalo

***Bills acquire 3rd overall pick from Jaguars for 9th pick, 41st pick, 2015 2nd round pick, and 109th pick***

Buffalo feels they arent too many players away from really competing. On the defensive side of the ball i do agree with them and the addition of Mack would make a vaunted pass rushing situation in Buffalo with Mario Williams and Jerry Hughes in the fold as well.

4. Browns- Johnny Manziel QB Texas A&M

I believe that the Browns are obsessed with him and GM Ray Farmer wants his own QB in there. Even with a deep QB class this would be a smart pick for the Browns.

5. Buccaneers- Greg Robinson OT Auburn

*** Bucs acquire 5th 219th & 2015 5th round pick from Oakland for 7th & 69th picks***

Bucs have big need at tackle and wide receiver but by making this trade they can get the best tackle we have seen in years and still hold on to their second round pick which they can use on a WR.

6. Falcons- Jake Matthews OT Texas A&M

Falcons want to get bigger after last year and have taken that step in upgrading the lines with Paul Solia, Tyson Jackson, and Jon Asamoah. Matthews will allow the Falcons to run the ball effectively and provide Matt Ryan more time to spread the ball out. This is a very good pick for Atlanta.

7. Jaguars- Blake Bortles QB Central Florida

*** Jaguars acquire 7th pick from Oakland for 9th 105th & 109th(Bills 4th) picks

Jaguars get their man by leapfrogging the Vikings. The Jaguars do have a number of holes to fill including Tackle, Corner, Linebacker, and Safety but no need is as pressing as Quarterback. They now have two 2nd round picks and their 3rd rounder to fix some of those problems (although no 4th round picks).

8. Panthers- Mike Evans WR Texas A&M

*** Panthers acquire 8th pick from Vikings for 28th 92nd 168th and 2015 1st round pick***

After seeing four Wide Receivers leave the Panthers finally get their guy. He would pair with Jason Avant and Jericho Cotchery to create and average receiving corps but still have holes in their offensive line, outside linebacker, and all over their secondary save free safety. They will most likely draft a tackle in round two as they had success last year with a underwelming secondary but need to replace the recently retired Jordan Gross.

9. Raiders- Eric Ebron TE North Carolina

The Raiders have possibly the most needs out of any team in the league and desperetly need youth on defense as they are projected to have five starters over the age of 30. They have no impact tight ends at this moment and havent for a very long time. Ebron will give the Raiders a playmaking tight end for their franchise.

10. Lions- Justin Gilbert CB Oklahoma State

The Lions secondary has been awful for a long time and they currently have two aging corners in Rashean Mathis and Chris Houston. Gilbert would provide the Lions with a future number 1 corner who can help cover the likes of Calvin, Alshon, and Cordarelle in a difficult NFC North.

11. Bears- Aaron Donald DT Pittsburgh

***Bears acquire 11th pick from Titans for 14th & 82nd picks***

The Bears were woeful against the run last year and seemed lifeless without Henry Melton in the interior. This is a franchise that prides itself on defense but needs a top flight defensive tackle like they once had in Tommie Harris and Henry Melton. The Bears do have other needs including a guard, WR depth, a Tight end, Safeties and cornerback youth.

12. Giants- Taylor Lewan OT Michigan

This seems like the most Taylormade (see what i did there) pick of the draft. The Giants need a Left tackle to keep Eli up straight. They also need a WR, tight end, Free Safety, DT, and a outside linebacker but Lewan will solve a issue thats been lingering for years.

13. Rams- Haha Clinton-Dix FS Alabama

The Rams arent a team with too many needs and after adding Watkins are in position to take another playmaker in Haha. I think this pick comes down to Haha or Zach Martin but due to the potential availability of right tackles later in the draft and the lack of true playmaking free safeties other than Calvin Pryor or Haha that safety is the way to go.

14. Titans- Anthony Barr OLB UC- Los Angeles

The Titans are reforming to a 3-4 defense under new defensive coordinator Ray Horton and need the skillset to reflect the transformation. Barr would pair with Shaun Phillips before taking over for him in subsequent years. I can also see the Titans drafting a corner or a tight end but this isnot a team with a ton of needs and if Jake Locker plays well this is a team with talent on its roster.

15. Steelers- Darqueze Dennard CB Michigan State

If Dennard, Gilbert, Ebron, or Lewan  isnt here i can see this team moving back ten spots or so to a team that wants to move up and take Zach Martin or Calvin Pryor. The Steelers are desperate for a number 1 corner after the subpar play of Ike Taylor and really miss Keenan Lewis who is now on the Saints. This would make two new members of a rebuilt Steelers secondary including new free safety Mike Mitchell.

16. Patriots- Louis Nix III DT Notre Dame

***Patriots acquire 16th pick from Cowboys for 29th 62nd and 2015 2nd round picks***

The Patriots are not a team that has a pressing number of needs but every starter on their defensive line is over the age of 30. Louis Nix III is really the only highly graded Nose tackle in this draft and the Patriots need youth along the line. I can also see them grabbing a SS, potentially a center, and a tight end.

17. Ravens- Zach Martin OT Notre Dame

The Ravens have always put emphasis on their offensive line under the Harbaugh era and last years play is not acceptable for the system that they run. Martin can play day one at Right Tackle and make this line instantly better. I think its a tough decision between him and Mosley but this choice makes sense. He would be the second member of the o-line acquired this offseason with Jeremy Zuttah who they traded for from Tampa Bay.

18. Packers- CJ Mosley ILB Alabama

***Packers acquire 18th pick from Jets for 21st and 85th pick***

The Jets arent to kind to the Dolphins are they. The Packers dont have to many glaring needs but absolutely need an upgrade over Brad Jones at the inside linebacker position. Mosley would make an excellent 1-2 punch with AJ Hawk and would allow Julius Peppers and Clay Matthews to focus mainly on pass rushing. All of the sudden the Packers defense doesnt look like the week spot anymore.

19. Browns- Odell Beckham Jr. WR Louisiana State

***Browns acquire 19th pick from Dolphins for 26th & 83rd picks***

The Browns recieved the 83rd pick from the Steelers last year in the Shamarko Thomas trade.The Browns have a pressing need for a number 2 Wide Receiver to play with Josh Gordon. This would make teams more cautious to use double teams on Gordon as they would have to figure out ways to cover Beckham & Jordan Cameron.

20. 49ers- Brandin Cooks WR Oregon State

***49ers acquire 20th pick from Cardinals for 30th & 61st picks***

The 49ers need more Wide Receivers to balance out their roster and compete with the violent secondary of the Seahawks. With Seattle losing Walter Thurmond as their slot corner covering Cooks will be a pain for the legion of boom. Cooks would infuse more speed into an offense with a physical running game.

21. Jets- Marquise Lee WR Southern California Before the Jets signed Eric Decker they had the worst receiving corps in the league along with a big hole at tight end. Lee would be a big boost for this offense which continues to add weapons for Vick/Geno.

22. Eagles- Kyle Fuller CB Virginia Tech The Eagles have a hole at corner with really no number one option on the roster. They also play a very fast paced system on offense which means their time of possesion numbers will be porous. Fuller would help cover guys in a division of excellent WR including Dez Bryant, Victor Cruz, and DeSean Jackson.

23. Chiefs- Calvin Pryor FS Louisville The Chiefs have more needs than meets the eye when you think about a team that was the last standing undefeated team by a large margin. They have a big hole next to Eric Berry at Safety which is a big black eye to the defense. I can see them trading down but Pryor at this pick is to tough to pass up.

24. Bengals- Ryan Shazier OLB Ohio State

The Bengals have a few needs in another wide receiver, a pass rusher to replace Michael Johnson, and a safety to replace Reggie Nelson but Shazier should be the pick for them. This will also be a determining season for Andy Daltons future as he is going to either start making some money or facing competition for starts.

25. Chargers- Jason Verrett CB Texas Christian

The Chargers are in desperate need for Corners its not funny anymore. They also need a nose tackle but with Louis Nix III gone there is no one worth a first round pick at that position. This is a team well positioned for the future due to hits in the second round like Eric Weddle, Kendell Reyes, Marcus Gilchrist, and Manti Teo.

26. Dolphins- Xavier Sua Filo OG UC- Los Angeles

The Dolphins have numerous needs across the football field so I can see them trading down to fill many of those holes including offensive guard (2), OT, wide receiver, Linebacker, a second tight end, youth at corner, and free safety. Here the Dolphins get a future pro bowl guard which can be paired next to Mike Pouncey to open up some holes in that running game.

27. Saints- Dee Ford OLB Auburn

For all the upgrades and money that New Orleans spent on the secondary this offseason it will be very difficult for them to cover people if there is no pass rush. Ford will provide that rush for the Saints reducing their need to blitz. I dont know if he is a three down player though.

28. Seahawks- Bradley Roby CB Ohio State

***Seahawks acquire 28th pick from Vikings for 32nd & 2015 3rd round picks***

After Roby there is a big dropoff of corners till Lamarcus Joyner and after that another big falloff. The Seahawks lost Brandon Browner and Walter Thurmond III to free agency and have a big decision to make on Richard Sherman. The Seahawks usually draft with the future in mind and this pick will be for present and future.

29. Cowboys- Timmy Jernigan DT Florida State

The Cowboys have needs all over the field and Jerry Jones is not making Jason Garrett’s job any easier. They had one of the worst defenses that i have ever seen last year and they lost DeMarcus Ware. This team has needs everwhere on defense except middle linebacker and starting corner. They also have needs on the offensive side of the ball especially at guard. 2014 maybe a rough one for these Cowboys.

30. Texans- Teddy Bridgewater QB Louisville

***Texans acquire 30th pick from Cardinals for 33rd and 101st picks***

I can see the Texans getting nervous that someone will trade into the back of the first round and take Teddy or the Vikings will pluck him. This would be an excellent first round for Houston in grabbing their franchise QB and a defensive force in Clowney. I dont see the Texans taking Carr due to their issues with his brother.

31. Broncos- JaWuan James OT Tennesee

The Broncos have a need at right tackle after moving Orlando Franklin over to guard to replace the departing Zane Beadles. The Broncos need to keep Peyton upright and that has to be their top priority. The Broncos are all in to try and win a super bowl before Peyton retires and i can see them trading their 2015 1st round pick to try and get the pieces to win that championship.

He would pair with Harrison Smith to make one of the better safety combinations in the league. The Vikings were absolutely dreadful in pass coverage last year and have upgrades Caption Munnerlyn and now Jimmie Ward to combat the passing attacks of the NFC North. With their abundance of picks the Vikings are well positioned to take a quarterback soon.

On this day 10 years ago we lost a true American Hero. Cardinals Pro Bowl safety Pat Tillman declared for the army instead of opting for the money and fame of an NFL lifestyle. He was killed in friendly fire on this very day 10 years ago. May the soul of a true American legend Rest in Peace.
